• Life's a Beach {Caroline & Mike}

    I met Caroline and her Mum at a lovely little vintage inspired brides event organised by Miss Dolly's Tea Parties, where I gave a talk about helping your photographer get the best possible photographs on your wedding day. Caroline & Mike won an engagement shoot with me, and they ended up booking me for their day back in April, at the Green House Hotel an eco friendly boutique hotel in Bournemouth.

    I couldn’t believe my luck waking up on a warm sunny day as I headed down to Bournemouth after months of grey days and rain. We’d talked about doing a few photos in the garden outside the hotel, but as it was such a gorgeous day I asked them both that morning if they’d be up for an adventure, and I booked an impromptu taxi to pick us up and take us to the beach just after the ceremony. Thankfully they were both up for it, and it was a lot of fun whisking them off to honeycomb beach where passers by congratulated them. We had so much fun and I’m delighted with the results. It just goes to show that breaking free from 'the plan' and taking a risk really pays off.

    The rest of the day was equally beautiful with Caroline’s stunning Suzanne Neville dress, and gorgeous vintage inspired details including candelabras draped with pearls and white accents of hydrangea, gypsophila and peonies. It was the stuff of dreams. And the food was delicious too, if you’re local to Bournemouth I’d definitely advise you try the hotel’s restaurant The Green Room. And in the evening Fishee Designs supplied a fabulous vintage photo booth, which of course I gate crashed. Evidence here.

    Thanks for letting me be a part of your awesome day guys, you were so brilliant and up for my hair brained ideas. I’m so glad I was able to deliver you your dream of wedding photos on the beach.

  • Love & Laughter {Chloe & Gareth are engaged...but not for long!}

    Two engagement shoots in one week! I know, madness, but I promise I have THE MOST beautiful beach wedding to share with you next week. Of course as wedding season gets into full swing I’m busy shooting engagement shoots almost weekly!

    The lovely Chloe & Gareth are getting married tomorrow! I can’t wait for their wedding, it features a yellow colour scheme and steak and chips for dinner! Bring it on weekend! Can you all please pray that this sunshine will continue at least until we can get into the marquee?! Here’s their engagement shoot, you can just sense the humour and the bond between them can’t you? I love the wonderful expression in these images. Plus I love a bit of corrugated iron!

  • Love in the Woods of Lover {Sally & Benji are engaged!}

    I first met Sally and Benji at the Wiltshire Wedding Show in Spring 2012. I remember leaning towards my friend who was helping me out on my stand for the day and whispering “I want to shoot their wedding”. It was love at first sight, I remember elegant, long limbed Sally with her jet black hair scraped into a tight top knot and Benji with his hat and floppy hair underneath reminiscent of a young Leo DiCaprio- circa Romeo & Juliet. I just knew we’d be on the same ‘wedding-wavelength’ and I wanted to put them in front of a camera right there and then. I knew they were a couple for me. Thankfully the feeling was mutual, and we bonded over a pint chatting about their tipi wedding featuring loads of home made detail reflecting their personalities. I’ve been looking forward to it ever since. I can’t wait to share all of the amazing things they have planned for their June wedding with you. In the mean time, here’s their lovely little e-shoot, down the woods near Sally’s folk’s house in Lover, Wiltshire where the wedding is being held in just a few weeks time!
