The White Family and I have a bit of a thing going on. First I shot Sarah’s wedding at Hatherden Barn, then her sister’s destination wedding in New York, and finally I shot her brother Craig’s wedding to his gorgeous bride Sophie. There are still two other siblings so I have every hope to collect the complete set- you heard ladies! But seriously, over the years I’ve just fallen in love with these guys, and we’ve remained friends since Sarah’s wedding and even catch up for a curry now and again, it is the best thing in the world when your clients become friends, and each wedding has been like catching up with the family. Â It makes shooting for them a joy, and at the end of Craig & Sophie’s day, I left more than a little emotional that my last ‘White Wedding’ had come and gone.
Let me tell you, these guys know how to do a wedding. Each has been completely individual and yet wonderful in it’s own way. Sarah & Matt’s day was beautifully detailed with so much thought put into every aspect of the day (as featured in Wedding Ideas Magazine), Steff and Ness- well…New York– what more need I say?! And Sophie & Craig’s wedding was no exception to the rule. The barn, their blank canvas, had been completely transformed and decked out with festoon lighting. It was bursting with the most exquisite florals, by one of my favourite floral talents Jenni Bloom Flowers. If you’re still after a florist, snap this lady up fast and just let her work her magic. She created the most jaw dropping asymmetrical floral arch into the barn, along with Sophie’s soft, blowsy & yet wild bouquet and rustic jar arrangements for the tables. Chalk boards were a key detail for Craig and Sophie, and they’d hand made blackboard hearts for each guest as a place setting to hang on every chair. Each one had been beautifully hand lettered, along with the table plan made from up-cycled window pains, by Sarah. If you love the hand lettering here as much as me you’ll be excited to know Sarah is available to hire for hand lettering, styling and prop hire. These guys have collected quite the collection of props after three weddings, and even had to hire a dedicated storage space for it all! (Ask me for more details if you’d like more info) And there were a million other beautiful touches & details, too many to show or name here but including a message in a bottle set up, a DIY pimms bar, and Polaroids of their engagement photographs. I’m snap happy at the best of times, and cutting images down for this post was hard! I could literally shared hundreds more photos from the day with you guys because it was just so darned beautiful.
As well as making the day gorgeous, these guys wanted the experience to be awesome for their guests and had a help yourself appetiser bar, served late night chilli and nachos, and the band was epic. These guys love to party and chose the awesome Mister Kanish to set the tone, I’d highly recommend them if you’re still after your wedding band. Guys, you know I love you, I don’t need to say it again, thank you so much for letting me into your family with your whole hearts, and letting me capture your beautiful wedding day. You realise you’re stuck with me now, right?
