I have been so lucky to shoot some seriously gorgeous weddings this summer, and Caroline & Tom’s day was absolutely beautiful. Simply styled with elegant details it was a modern, elegant day with quirky touches. I knew it was gonna be good the moment Caroline told me she’d be wearing a Claire Pettibone’s stunning Willow dress. With it’s detailed almost oriental back and silk sheath dress it’s one of my favourites from the queen of unique, individual and feminine bridal wear. Taking inspiration from the colours of the dress, each of Caroline’s six brides maids wore a different muted gold, nude or cream dress all tying in perfectly. Hair, make up and the bride’s accessories were by the uber talented and lovely Victoria Furgusson. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Victoria again, who has such a brilliant calming influence, and a finger firmly on the hottest bridal trends. Caroline & Tom were married in St. Thomas’s church in Salisbury city centre- which is particularly special to me as it’s where I was married almost three years ago. It’s beautiful big windows let in so much gorgeous light, and of course the medieval doom painting makes for a spectacular and dramatic backdrop steeped in history. They followed the service with a reception at the brand new Barford Park Barn in Downton. En route I spotted a gorgeous wheat field, and asked if the happy couple would be up for stopping for a few photos there. I’m so glad they were up for it, and I’m really happy with the results! The barn was simply and elegantly decorated with gypsophila, and a large hanging ball of flowers and their feature stationery designed by a very clever bridesmaid. Each of the tables was named after a different ale, and as Caroline and Tom are complete foodies the wedding breakfast by Norma Farrelly was to die for, followed by the most scrumptious ‘naked cake’ by Baby Cakes of Bath. As the guests danced the night away to the sounds of the awesome Deloreons, they were served bacon sarnies! It was an amazing day. Thanks so much for having me Caroline & Tom, I’m looking forward to catching up for a drink soon!
