we're going to be spending one of the most important days of your life together
Having me around on your wedding day is an excellent choice. Why? Well, for starters, I’ll feel like a friend right away. A bridesmaid once told me I had “good energy” and I’ve always loved that compliment. Secondly, I will go out of my way to capture a gallery of photos that make you do a little happy cry.

i bet you hate the term ‘couples’ portrait
same here.
As an award-winning wedding photographer (just thought I’d slip that in there quietly), I’ve become a bit of an expert at taking photos without them feeling too much like “portraits” when they’re happening.
I don’t much care for the term “docu-style” either, simply because I think it bleeds all the spontaneity out of the very style it’s describing. Proper stealthy wedding photography should mean you don’t really notice me. And when you do notice me, I’m always in the right place at the right time.
If this sounds like you, then we’re going to get along just fine.
You want your wedding to feel relaxed and laid-back…
without missing out on some killer, creative shots that will make you go ‘ahhhh’.
You do not want to leave the party
in order to pose for 40 minutes and miss out on the canapés.
You want photos of your guests
having the time of their lives and NOT having to pose for endless formal shots.

You need a photographer who gets you.
(and knows what you need before you do)

I let you do you.
I’ll never force you to pose in a way that doesn’t feel natural to you. Your wedding is an extremely personal occasion (maybe the most personal) and it really is all about you.
I won’t be on the lookout for stuff that looks good in my portfolio, I’m on the lookout for moments that really sum up the day.
I want you to have a gallery of photos that make you wish you had a million walls in your home to hang them all on.

HOW IT WORKS ON THE DAY
1

getting ready
I’ll be up bright and early (around 2 hours before the ceremony) to spend a bit of time with one of you while you get ready. I can only be in one place at one time (naturally), so if you’d like both parties covered during the morning we can easily arrange a second shooter.

just married
You did it! You’re so, so married. How does it feel? As soon as you’re married, we’ll do your confetti tunnel (always a fave) then we’ll make our way to the reception with your guests.
At some point that works for you, we’ll sneak off and have a few quiet photos with just the two of you. It’s a nice little moment when you can take a breath and really relish what’s happening.
4

on the dancefloor
Time to drink Champagne and dance…on the dancefloor (come on, the table is never going to end well).
Dancefloor photos are just the best and the only way for me to get the most amazing ones is – you guessed it – to get down and dirty on the dancefloor myself. You’ve got to be in it to win it!
here are some very
kind words.

nice things
just amazing!
Oh my word Lydia, we are just over the moon with our photos. You literally captured everything we hoped you would and more – it was so so lovely seeing certain moments that we hadn’t seen on the day too. There are so many emotional moments, it’s like you knew who the most important guests were to us and focused on them – just amazing. Thank you so so much, we’re chuffed to bits & can’t wait to show everyone!

exactly what we wanted
Booking Lydia for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made.
From the pre wedding planning meetings and emails to finally meeting her on the day her service has been outstanding. She captured our wedding in the most perfect way and the photos have blown us away.
Lydia was there without us knowing, not at all in your face or making us pose but capturing all the natural shots of our day which is exactly what we wanted.

creative & natural
Lydia’s work is creative and natural. She doesn’t shy away from pushing the boundaries but always maintains her couples are the stars. She’s carefree, unassuming and her creative images always stick in my mind. I’m honoured to recommend her.

a constant reassurance throughout the wedding process
I followed Lydia on Instagram when she photographed a friend’s wedding and I knew the second I met her that one day I wanted her to photograph my wedding, that was even before I saw her heavenly photos!
Lydia is not just a photographer, she is a friend/helper and constant reassurance throughout the wedding process. I would recommend her one thousand times over!!!

lots of spontaneous moments
Lydia was such a great photographer to work with. Easy to get on with and great fun. We Instantly felt at ease with her! She ensured all aspects of the day were perfectly captured.
The photos are absolutely beautiful and she captured lots of spontaneous moments. The online album made it really easy to share them with friends and family.

really natural & beautiful
We got the photos yesterday and absolutely loved going through them!! You captured the day perfectly; exactly what we hoped for. Really natural, beautiful and some very amusing pictures. Everyone commented on how cool a photographer you were & we couldn’t be happier. Thank you so much for helping make that special day visible for us forever.

You sound great, but we’re not very photogenic or very comfortable in front of a camera…
What if it rains?
We’re getting married in Gretna Green / John o’Groats / Timbuktu…can you still shoot our day?
How do we book you?
Now that’s what I’m talking about. Let’s get this show on the road. Just drop me a line, and we’ll go from there. I tend to get booked a year or two in advance, so don’t hang around.
