HOW IT WORKS AT NORTHBROOK PARK

getting ready
The honeymoon suite at Northbrook Park has plenty of space for you and your friends to get ready for your wedding. I arrive around two hours before the ceremony and tend to start the day in the luxurious (and enormous!) bathroom to set up a flat lay of all the beautiful details for you, so have those ready to go. And of course I’ll also capture a show stopping shot of your dress. The rest of the morning I’ll photograph all the fun moments as you spend time with your friends. Finally, I love to finish with a first look – so get the tissues at the ready, it could get emotional!

your ceremony
It’s time to get wed! You could choose to have your wedding ceremony outside in the beautiful walled garden or the elegant vine room Northbrook Park. Both options are perfect and I love photographing all the joy, emotion and beautiful moments during the ceremony. I aim to be in the ceremony location about half an hour before the start to capture your guests arriving as well as any gorgeous flowers or backdrops you may have. I’ll also photograph some super quick group shots of your partner and their family too – a tick in the box so you can spend more time together during the reception – WIN.

just married
Whoop! You’re married! Once you’ve walked down the aisle in the Vine Room, sneak into the registrar’s room for a few minutes alone while we get all your friends and family ready for the confetti throw outside the doors. The resident peacocks always get involved during this bit which makes for a fun surprise for your guests!
I always want to give you the first half hour of your reception to relax and enjoy yourself before we take any pictures. During this time I’ll capture your guests enjoying the grounds of Northbrook Park as well as the set up in the orangery. The glass roof makes for gorgeous light photographs which is a real treat as a wedding photographer!

on the dancefloor
Most of my couples book me for the whole day, and after your wedding breakfast in the evening your guests will spill back out onto the outdoor terrace and the gardens. This is the perfect opportunity to capture a few golden hour photos if we get lucky enough. Then at night we’ll get that cake cut and you onto the dance floor! My whole day package lasts until the first dance but I always stay to photograph some of the dance floor action to ensure the full story of the day told in the photos.

What if it rains?
Then it rains! One of the best things about Northbrook park is how light the venue is, and that it has two brilliant separate spaces. This means we’ll always have an indoor space available and full of natural light so your group photos and candids of your guests won’t be effected. Thankfully we can also make use of other areas which will be under cover for your couple photos and I always travel with umbrellas! I’ll also keep one eye on the weather throughout the day so as soon as it’s dry I’ll sneak you off!Â
What's the best place to have your ceremony at Northbrook Park?
One of the things I like most about Northbrook is that you have the option to design your wedding just as you’d like it. As a wedding photographer this is great as no two Northbrook park weddings are the same. If you fancy outdoors the walled garden with it’s water features is a lovely option. If you have a mega guest list the orangery is the biggest space to host weddings at Northbrook Park and the fairy lights, plants and glass ceiling give it beautiful natural light. Personally though I think the fire place in the Vine Room is the perfect ceremony backdrop, especially when dressed with flowers. The large windows make this space beautifully light too. So you’re spoilt for choice while in some venues you have to choose between one light and one dark space. As a photographer this is a real treat too! 🙂
As a Northbrook Park wedding photographer where do you recommend we have our group photos taken?
Personally I always advise that we take your group shots as close to where the reception is happening as possible. This keeps things easy when we’re gathering your friends and family and ensures it doesn’t take ages which is when group shots get painful! At most Northbrook park weddings this means using the walled gardens for your photos which is a beautiful backdrop. I do LOVE the white gates and doors in the gravelled area in front of the main house though so I usually advise we take just your wedding party to this area to create a few fun photographs, like a champagne spray!
Can you capture my partner getting ready too if we're both on site at Northbrook Park?
Absolutely. I know you’ll most likely both want wedding photos of both of you in the morning, sharing laughs with your squad. Of course if you’d like extensive coverage of two people adding a second shooter to your package is a great idea but I can also easily go from the honeymoon suite to the accommodation at Northbrook Park without any problems. One of the best things about the wedding venue is the amount of on site accommodation and it’s all in close proximity. We’ll discuss the best timings during a pre-wedding zoom call.
