Saturday’s wedding at Northbrook Park near Farnham, Hampshire saw my first return to something that was pretty close to a normal wedding. I can’t tell you the buzz it gave me to back amongst one hundred and ten guests celebrating the marriage of Tash and James.
I’ve been looking forward to this one for a while, as I shot Tash’s brother’s wedding at Clock Barn back in the heady days of 2019, and they’re such a lovely family. It was also my first time shooting a wedding at Northbrook Park, which is absolutely beautiful venue. The ceremony space and dining area feature huge windows, making it a beautiful light venue and the more light the better for us photographers! As you’ll see the stunning light filled space has resulted in gorgeous fresh images. I was also spoilt for choice with backdrops for photos, and the fact that the drinks area is split from the beautiful frontage of the house gives you the perfect private place to slip away to for couple photos without an audience.
Like all couples getting married this year, Tash and James have dealt with so much stress in the run up to their day, speculating about restrictions being eased, wondering if they could have the day they’d dreamed of. They had to make some compromises on the guests able to join them for the ceremony but were able to celebrate with one hundred and ten of their friends and family. After more than a year of shooting no more than than thirty guests the atmosphere & energy of being back at a big wedding was electric, and everyone was clearly so happy to be reunited and more than ready to celebrate. Dance floors are still outdoors, but that didn’t stop the party and they laid on a big screen for the Euros match as James is a massive footie fan.
As you can see Tash looked absolutely incredible in her gown from Boo Bridal Boutique with her hair and make up done by Liz Patey Hair & Make-up Design. The gents looked amazing in black tie – which has to be one of my all time fave Groom’s wear looks. Set against the incredibly beautiful backdrop of Northbrook, embellished perfectly by Fiona Curry Flowers it really was a stunning day.
As well as the aesthetics though, this day was full of heart and emotion, with one of the most touching father daughter first looks I’ve witnessed followed by some of the best speeches later in the day. I’m so glad that Tash and James got the day they’d been dreaming of.
I hope you enjoy these previews of the day. Previews are a handful of my favourite images from the day which I deliver to my couples in the days after their wedding while they await the full set. There’ll be many more to come.
