Larmer Tree Gardens, just outside my hometown of Salisbury, Wiltshire is one of my all time favourite venues. So when Leanne got in touch and asked me to capture her wedding to Fred I was naturally super excited to be able to have such a gorgeous backdrop at my disposal. If you’re not familiar with the venue it’s an incredible Victorian pleasure gardens complete with, romantic Roman Temple and peacocks wandering the grounds. Leanne is herself a super talented wedding photographer, so I was of course truly honoured that she’d chosen me to capture their day.

Leanne & Fred are like the real life Gavin & Stacey, in that they met over the phone at work and their relationship blossomed from there. And yesterday, finally, after several covid postponements they were married at beautiful Larmer Tree.

After everything 2020 threw at us, they decided to completely rethink their plans for a big wedding, and in the end (after a date move to 2022 and back again) chose to have an intimate day with about thirty of their nearest and dearest in the most relaxed format possible. Leanne realised the most important thing was that they got married. There was no seating plan and no sit down formal wedding breakfast. After their ceremony they opted for drinks in deck chairs followed by barbecue food and unlimited ice creams for their lucky guests. I have to confess, I rather enjoyed it too!

After a relaxed picnic style meal, the guests sat on the grass outdoors for the heartfelt speeches too. And afterwards the bride and groom disappeared for a night away. It couldn’t have been more relaxed, or more perfect. Thank you so much for choosing me to capture your day you two.
