Wow. Another year flown by. And one thing I love about this time of year is the chance to reflect on what’s been and what’s to come. It’s truly been an incredible year for me. After two years of taking things slowly after the arrival of my first bambino I wanted to amp things up again and certainly did as I worked with thirty lovely couples this year. Thank you guys for making my year so brilliant, I’ve had so many laughs, tears, hugs…my heart was full to the brim going back over the thousands and thousands I’ve shot this year. It’s always so hard to choose my favourites and my couples will know as well as anyone that I’m trigger happy with my camera and love sharing the results, I just find choosing so hard! My first pull out of favourites was over 1400 photos, a little too many to digest so I set myself a challenge to choose just 100. And here they are. One hundred little moments from 2017 that added up to make my year, and your wedding days just awesome.
As always with my year round ups I never want go choose the obvious shots. It’s partly why I don’t call this post ‘the best of’ or ‘favourites’ because I want to show you something different. Something more interesting than the big moments and the picture perfect details (which you can see in a full blog post if you’d like by the way!). I want to share with you the little in betweens, the interactions captured, the intimate moment after the second when you think I’ve got the shot (and I have!) and then you relax, but I’m still looking and still shooting. These are just my absolute favourite images to capture for you and often not the ones which end up on the blog; these are the heartfelt split seconds which are gone in a flash. And there’s at least one from every wedding of the year in here for you to enjoy. And I do hope you enjoy.
2017 has been amazing and 2018 is shaping up to be just as brilliant with twenty fabulous couples booked in already all over the south of the UK, as well as a jaunt to Paris for a wedding in a chateau in my diary! I can’t wait to see what else the new year has in store and I truly hope yours is full of joy and happiness.
Special thanks have to go to my brilliant associate photographers Libby, Hannah, Emma, Megan, Clare, Holly and especially Sam who has been my wing man all year and also stepped in on my behalf when I broke my wrist- what a hero! But the biggest thanks goes to my brilliant couples who have trusted in me, become like friends and let me into their families for the day. You’ve made my year.
