Victoria & Simon had a understated and beautiful wedding at Shustoke Farm Barns in Warwickshire, not far outside of Birmingham.
The old barn has been beautifully converted with stunning vaulted ceilings, old beams and feature doors. It’s covered in fairy lights & festoon lights inside and out which made for beautiful twinkling backdrops for the photographs- kudos to Victoria & Simon for coming outside in the spitting rain during the party to capture the last shot of the night under the festoon lights hung between the trees. I’m so glad they were up for it, as the resulting images were magical and even formed a double spread in the couple’s album.
With the venue being so beautiful in itself Victoria and Simon went for simple, rustic decor to complement the barn. Jam jars wrapped in burlap and lace filled with flowers dressed the tables along with bags of sweets for the guests and each table was named after a favourite real ale. A real feature of the wedding was the food- always excellent at any Cripps Barn venue! Beef was cooked on an open flame, and each table had an allocated carver who was sent into the dining room holding the beef aloft and dressed in an apron and chefs hat- which made for a bit of theatre and a real talking point. The beef was delicious too! In the evening after dinner as well as the usual coffee and cake there were open fire pits with marshmallows.
Thank you so much for having me capture the day guys, and a big thank you to my second shooter on the day Naomi Jane.
