Sally and Benji….where oh where do I begin? It was just love at first sight for me and them- I first clapped eyes on them at my local wedding fair (The Wiltshire Wedding Show) and just knew I had to shoot their wedding. After a chat they left their email address and I hoped and prayed they might pick me, we met for a pint in the local and I tried to be as cool as possible while they explained they were having a tipi wedding in the back garden, with curry catered by the local curry house, a rockabilly band (Jezebel– who are ace by the way!) that Sally shared my love of Claire Pettibone wedding dresses, and to put the cherry on the cake they were doing it all in the local village of Lover- squueeeeee!
And boy, oh boy did these guys deliver. I loved their wedding so much I may have a post wedding blues myself after this one! Sally & Benji are both artists and their wedding perfectly reflected their creativity, love of music, love of family, and their laid back bohemian natures. There were home grown flowers hung from the trees, festival style posters & wrist bands designed by Benji, flower seed and home made jam favours and all sorts of other DIY touches. After we’d had curry in the evening The Rolling Stone pizza co provided fresh pizza, and local butchers Pritchett’s provided a hog & lamb roast. Even better than all this Sally had set aside a whole hour for photos, dragging me and Benji deep into the woods and kicking off her converse so that I could take a photo of her bare feet on the leafy woodland floor. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I don’t think Benji was quite as enthusiastic as me, but I was able to get him to relax in front of the camera quickly and I am thrilled with the results and even better, so are they. Sally said:
“They are so amazing can’t really put into words what a brilliant job you have done. You have captured everything and everyone so perfectly I know we will treasure the images forever. Looking through them I was laughing, crying, proud, so many emotions. Keep saying it I know, but feel so so lucky we found you as we cannot imagine anybody else being so enthusiastic, fresh, fun, creative, imaginative and as lovely a you to be such an important part of our day
Massive Thank yous and teary eyed hugs!”
Sally & Benji- thank you so much for having me capture your day- your friends and family were all so lovely, and made my job so easy and such a joy. I’m so happy to call you both friends now and I can’t wait to see what the future holds- if the wedding day is anything to go by it’s going to be quite an adventure!
