I met Lyndsey & Andy at The Wiltshire Wedding Show, not unusual you might think apart from the fact Lyndsey was a supplier as well as a bride! Just across from my usual stand space she was exhibiting her seriously scrummy and beautiful wedding cakes for the first time at WWS. She runs her own cake making company Sweet Serenity based out of Bournemouth. And trust me, her cakes are to die for- the white choc and raspberry is INSANELY GOOD. We hit it off straight away, and at the end of the show Lyndsey revealed she was getting married on Bournemouth beach five months later and was I free. I’m usually booked around a year or two in advance but had received a cancellation for her date only the week before so it was obviously meant to be. It’s always super flattering to be chosen by another wedding vendor as we spend A LOT of time looking at wedding photographs and usually have a good idea of what we like, and don’t like.
As soon as Andy and Lyndsey told me a little bit more about their day at our pre wedding catch up I knew I was going to love it, and it didn’t disappoint! They had a perfectly relaxed DIY day, their way at their local beach just ten minutes from home, and it was just perfect. The ceremony and reception took place at Branksome Dene Community Room which overlooks the beach, Lyndsey had done an amazing job transforming it into a sweet rustic space with DIY paper fans and lanterns, and of course the most amazing blackboard themed wedding cake which served as a fabulous centrepiece.  The very lovely and talented Christian Orner catered the most delicious salads and barbeque for lunch and then as the temperatures dropped in the evening he produced a chilli and cider laced pulled pork! The first dance was outdoors under the sky with the setting sun behind them, and for the dancing Lyndsey changed from her 50s style dress into a peachy sequinned number (which can you believe it was from Miss Selfridge!). I loved her whole look with her undone Grecian hair and stunning make up by the fabulous Teresa Jolly. My favourite bit of the day, was taking the two of them off for a few minutes alone for reflection and a few final photographs in the setting sun. I really fell in love with these two, you can just see how much Andy loves Lyndsey, and his energy and enthusiasm is infectious to be around.  Thank you so much for having me guys. I’m so glad I got to know you, I wish you many many years of love and laughs. x
