2014 has truly been an amazing year, and August was one hell of a month. My last wedding of the nine I shot last month was like the cherry on top of one amazing cake. Steff & Ness eloped to New York City to get married. It’s one of my favourite cities in the world and when they asked me to join them it was a dream come true! I had the best time hanging out with these guys, I’m so lucky to be able to call them friends. I’m also passionate about marriage equality, and so I was delighted to photograph my first same sex wedding. Their emotional wedding took place on Bow Bridge in Central Park, which was followed by a trip to the iconic Empire Diner. If you’re heading across the pond you must visit, the food is absolutely delicious- the fries are maybe the best I’ve ever had! Then Steff, Ness and I jumped in a cab to take a few more photos in the city before heading to Brooklyn Bridge for sunset. One of my favourite images from the day though, is of the two of them in the cab, heading back into Manhattan to join their wedding party at John’s Pizzeria in Times Square. The last light of the day is flooding in through the window, and after a hot day treading the streets of New York it was a moment of peace, and reflection. I’ll be blogging the full wedding in due course, but in the mean time here are some sneak peeks to whet your appetite.
