Catherine & Matt had the most perfect English country wedding. They were married in the beautiful Farley Church, designed by iconic English architect Christopher Wren with a reception in a marquee at home in Pitton, just outside Salisbury. I am so lucky to work with the loveliest couples, but truly it was one of those days where I felt more like I was in the company of friends all day. I had such a laugh with these guys, who are just the warmest fun loving couple.
Catherine had also created absolutely stunning decor in the marquee. Each table had a beautiful eucalyptus garland running the length of it, complemented by grey table linen. They’d made rhubarb gin wedding favours and each table was named after a different knot a tribute to their love of sailing and a fun take on ‘tying the knot’! The table names were displayed on fabulous perspex signs hand made by the bride if you can believe it (they’re immaculate!) but the show stoppers were the crates hanging from the ceiling of the marquee filled with greenery which were just show stopping. I’m also totally obsessed with the wooden cross back chairs. My jaw dropped when I saw the room.
The catering was by Ginger Catering Company who laid on delicious anti pasti sharing platters followed by pork, carved and served by the guests which is such a great way of getting guests interacting with each other. In the evening they’d laid out marshmallows, and hay bails around a fire pit along with rugs to cosy up with and the band Apres Ski got everyone dancing. It really was a perfect day.
This morning I received the loveliest text from Catherine saying “thank you so so much for yesterday…you were completely amazing…I was gutted when you left it was like one of my besties was leaving, honestly thank you so much.” Now, I am a wedding decor nut, I LIVE for wedding pretty and good styling but honestly, this is why I do my job and means more to me than all the grey linens and cross back chairs in the world. Thank you so much for choosing me to share and capture your day you absolute beauties, I wish you every happiness in the world as you begin your future as Mr & Mrs.
