Wedding Moments of 2016

Well, that was 2016. Is it just me or did the year pass in the blink of an eye?! Sounds cliched I know, but this year was a bit of a  biggie for me. Having my first baby in January I really had no idea how life would look for me in 2016 juggling motherhood with running a business. I did take on less weddings than usual, but still ended up shooting more than planned and was invited to capture twenty five fabulous weddings and one by one they came and went far too quickly. Having maternity leave brought me back to the 2016 season with a new zest for, what I have realised is more than just a job to me.

Don’t get me wrong adjusting to my dual roles has been a challenge, I can’t just pick up my laptop and do what I want when I want anymore (I have serious empty blog guilt!) but I’m super proud of the fact I still managed to find a way to balance work and life while having so much fun with you guys along the way. It’s felt a bit epic, and like one of my biggest achievements yet. A bit like how I felt when I first went full time- sheer pride that I did it!  And that’s all down to you guys for making it happen and making it the best job ever, and for making my year even better than I could have dreamed by helping me to be shortlisted as one of the best wedding photographers in the South West in The Wedding Industry Awards, which is beyond what I could have dreamed of for this year. Thank you to each of you for opening up your hearts, your homes, your friends and family to me. And a HUGE thank you to each of my assistants, Freya, Sam and Katie for the moral support and help along the way too.

As always with my yearly round up posts I like to share the little moments. I’m a wedding detail junkie, but you wont catch those photos here, just the precious fleeting moments that give each wedding day it’s heart and soul. The ones that make your day unique to you.  Your mates’ kids playing hide and seek, your BFF shaking her thing on the dance floor, your fiance brushing his teeth just before stepping into the church, your Dad’s face when he sees you as a bride for the first time. These moments gone in an instant, or the ones you might not see on the day, which is why I love capturing them, and they’re at the very heart and soul of what I want to give to you. For you to laugh at, or cry at forever and ever.
Psssst….if you’d like to see my year in review of 2015, or 2014 you can have a butchers here.
Also, please note I already have 25 couples booked in for 2017, with just one or two remaining slots available and 2018 is filling up fast as I’m now taking bookings on a more exclusive basis. I also have just one slot available for a destination booking, so if you’re eloping or planning an adventure abroad for your nuptials get in touch!
