A Twinkling Winter Wedding At Cripps Stone Barn Oxfordshire

Claire and Sam had the most beautiful winter wedding at Cripps Stone Barn in Oxfordshire. I’ve worked at three of the Cripps’ venues now, and I think Stone Barn could be my favourite; it’s made for winter weddings, dripping in fairy lights which cover it’s industrial, rustic roofing making for gorgeous twinkling photographs. And it’s warmed by the huge open fire ovens in the kitchen which is exposed to the guests which makes quite the feature.

I absolutely adored Claire and Sam’s day, and had the best time with these guys having met them at Claire’s bridesmaid Sarah’s wedding which I’d shot a couple of years before. Claire has gorgeous taste and had planned the day perfectly with a muted winter palette of mismatched dusky pink and grey bridesmaids alongside simple but beautiful details in the barn of antiqued silver & gold baubles for favours. And as you can see she looked stunning in her Pronovias dress! But my favourites amongst these photos are all the loving moments captured, and there were plenty of them, it was a very emotional day, filled with hugs, tears and embracing from start to finish. Here’s what they had to say:

“Oh my word Lydia, we are just over the moon with our photos. You literally captured everything we hoped you would and more – it was so so lovely seeing certain moments that we hadn’t seen on the day too. There are so many emotional moments, like the photograph of our Dad’s leaning across the aisle to shake hands in the ceremony. And there are amazing photos of everyone it’s like you knew who the most important guests were to us and focused on them – just amazing. Thank you so so much, we’re chuffed to bits & can’t wait to show everyone!”
