Thi and Ivan had the most spectacularly beautiful, elegant wedding at Chateau Bouffemont, set just outside of Paris. The classically French chateau made the most jaw droppingly beautiful backdrop, it was pretty hard to go far wrong. I was excited as soon as Thi’s email dropped into my inbox, though I have shot destination weddings in Tuscany, Lake Como, Copenhagen & New York I’d actually never shot one in France before and so when they booked I was so excited to be able to tick it off my bucket list of dream weddings to shoot!
Then I googled the venue and got even more excited, I mean, just look at it! Chateau Bouffemont truly is the stuff of dreams and fairy tales, and it’s a private hire chateau meaning it can be your very own chateau for the weekend, with bedrooms for guests. It’s just forty five minutes outside of central Paris; which makes it very conveniently located for guests travelling for your destination wedding. The salon where the wedding breakfast takes place is also my favourite colour, a beautiful shade of aqua, duck egg blue & dripping with Swarovski chandeliers. It was the cherry on top of the cake!
Thi is Australian and Ivan is French so they had guests travelling from far and wide to join them. As Ivan is French Thi wanted the day to be a classically french affair complete with Laudree macarons, a patisserie dessert table and of course the champagne cascade which was absolutely amazing! Such an elegant and glamorous touch! The day was perfectly co-ordinated by the lovely Marina and her team at Les Demoiselles de Madame. Marina was amazing at translating when I needed for Ivan’s family and looked after me and my assistant Hannah (who was amazing throughout the trip!) so well throughout the day.Â
Â
The day itself was so elegant, with a classic white and dusky pink colour palette. Thi looked incredible with her hair beautifully put into finger waves, a little nod to a classically French style. There were also so many personal touches. The ceremony was conducted by Thi’s uncle, the wedding stationery was designed by a friend, music was provided by more friends including a big singalong to La Vie en Rose! There were also surprise games throughout the day including ‘the shoe game’ which is so much fun!Â
Â
I have to thank Thi & Ivan from the bottom of my heart for choosing me to capture their stunning wedding, and especially to Thi for being such a delight to work with throughout the process. She really is a ray of sunshine and I wish her and Ivan a long lifetime of happiness and adventure.Â
